William R. Chiles, age 95, formally of Pinson, Alabama passed away on Thursday, June 16, 2022, at Prisma Health – Cottingham Hospice House. Born on October 12, 1926, in Village Springs, Alabama, He was the son of the late William and Viola Chiles.
William was a veteran of World War 2 and an avid model plane enthusiast who worked at Scottsboro Nuclear Plant and Homewood Toy & Hobby throughout his life.
He is survived by his children, Bill & Allison Chiles of Walhalla, SC, Allyson Sanford of Birmingham, Alabama, Larry Sanford of Birmingham, Alabama, his grandchildren, Coley Sanford, Katie Sanford, Aubrey, Drew & Cass Bailey.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Chiles is preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Gloria Chiles.
In Lieu of flowers Memorial May be made in Mr. Chile’s honor to Prisma- Health Cottingham Hospice House.
