Thomas David Staton Sr., age 72, husband of 51 years to Betty Moses Staton, passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at his residence.
A native of Hendersonville, North Carolina, Tom was born on May 12, 1951, to the late Pinkney Staton Jr., and Eunice Staton. Tom attended Blue Ridge Technical School and worked for Clark Equipment and Meritor. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, working in his yard, taking his dog on walks, but most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his wife Betty of the home, survivors include his children; Nicole Robbins of Hendersonville, North Carolina, Thomas Staton (Karen) of Salisbury, North Carolina, and Jeffery Staton of Fair Play, South Carolina, his grandchildren; Calean Staton, Sydney Robbins, Aidan Robbins, Kady Staton, Kolyn Staton, Lily Staton, Rhanya Staton, his siblings; Lonnie Staton, Nancy Marshall, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Tom was predeceased by his parents, and his grandson Tyler Young.
Memorials may be made in Tom’s honor to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Shriner’s Hospital.
The family will be at 1284 Tugaloo Heights Circle, Fair Play, South Carolina.
