Richard Barret Thompson, known to friends as Barry, passed away on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, in Seneca, South Carolina. Born on September 1, 1973, he was the son of Mrs. Linda Shook Dowen.
Richard was an avid outdoorsman and will be remembered for his love of fishing and hunting.
In addition to his mother, Richard is survived by his son; Jacob Thompson and sister; Lisa Langner of Greenville, South Carolina.
Richard is predeceased by his maternal grandparents; Joe and Hazel Shook of Seneca, South Carolina and his paternal grandparents; Herbert and Wilma Thompson of Central, South Carolina.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Shilo Baptist Church in Seneca, South Carolina.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Shiloh Baptist Church.
Mountain View Funeral Home – Seneca Chapel is assisting the family of Mr. Thompson.
