Michael Vernon Bay

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Michael (Mike) Vernon Bay on Friday, March 21,2025.

Born July 20, 1951, to Carl and Frances Bay in Pickens, SC, Mike was a lifelong resident of the upstate.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Maxine Bay and his parents.

Mike is survived by his brother, Jim Bay of Six Mile, South Carolina; his sons, Shane Bay (Kelley), Andy Bay (Sandy), both of Seneca, South Carolina, and Chad Bay (Ashley) of Greenville, South Carolina; and his grandchildren, Cole Bay, Kaleb Bay, Camryn Bay, Carson Bay, Chloe Bay, Kellen Bay, and Lily Bay.

Mike was a skilled and dedicated tradesman, leaving his mark on countless homes throughout the upstate with his expert drywall skills. His craftsmanship was a testament to his hard work and dedication.

Beyond his work, Mike's greatest joy was found on the sidelines of athletic fields and courts, cheering on his grandchildren in their various sports.

Mike will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of hard work, love, and unwavering support will live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.

Graveside Services will be held 3:00PM Monday, March 24, 2025, at Oconee Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00-2:45 at the funeral home located at Cremation Society of SC – Brown Funeral Home, 101 E. North Second Street, Seneca, SC.
