Maybel Bessie Catlett Bowen

Maybel Bessie Catlett Bowen, 84, of Seneca, passed away on May 31, 2025, at Cottingham Hospice House in Seneca.

Born in Oconee County she was the daughter of Fred and Gladys Hull Rochester Catlett.

Survivors include her husband, Bobby Bowen, of the home; her son, Johnny (Dawn) Bowen, of Seneca; her grandchildren who she loved dearly, Andrew Lakota “Andy” (Ashley), Braden Levi, Ben, and Kelsey Haven; and one sister, Helen Certain.

Her parents and one grandchild predeceased her: Avery Nakota.

Maybel was a 1959 graduate of Seneca High School; she retired from JP Stevens.

She also worked as a coordinator for exchange students for many years.

A funeral service will be held on June 3, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Reedy Fork Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 – 2:00 PM before the service.

Burial will follow in Oconee Memorial Park.
