Lois Lehmann, of Salem, SC (formerly Edison, NJ and Jensen Beach, FL) died on February 2, 2023 in the presence of her family. Born in Jersey City, NJ on October 17, 1939, she is survived by her husband, George, whom she loved greatly and would have been married for ten years on February 16, 2023.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Joyce Devine of Rutherford, NJ. Surviving, her daughter Heather Vazquez and her husband Lucio, of Champaign, IL, her son, Dr. Kevin Finneran and his wife Stephanie, of Clemson, SC, and her stepson, Eric and his wife Silissa of Brooklyn, NY. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Jack, Harrison, Piper and Indigo. She will be missed by many cousins, nieces and nephews, especially Scott Tomeske and Kelly Waldron.

Lois enjoyed working at both Seton Hall University in South Orange, NJ and Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ. Beginning in 1987, she began her career as a respected real estate agent in Central NJ for over a decade. She retired from Rutgers in June, 2003, before moving to full retirement in Florida and then South Carolina.

During her time in Florida, she was a member of Unity of Stuart where she held most of the members as friends. When South Carolina became home, Lois embraced joining new groups, including the “New Comers” group, actively participating in activities she loved, like dance club, trivia, and her treasured fitness classes. Famous for her cheesecake recipe, Lois loved to visit Maine as often as possible. An avid reader and lover of all music from the 1950’s, Lois could often be found singing and dancing.

Her greatest joy was her grandchildren; she cherished each moment spent with them.

A private memorial service will be planned later in 2023.
