Karen Michelle Eubanks known to some as Missy, age 57, passed away on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at her home in Seneca, South Carolina. Born on November 14, 1966, she was the daughter of the late Patricia Bell Eubanks.
Karen graduated from Midland Valley Highschool in 1985. She was a Beta Club member and was the recipient of many awards and scholarships including the JB White literary contest and Future Teachers of America.
Karen received her LPN from Midlands Technical College and Associate in Nursing from Tri County Technical College, where in 1998 she was awarded the Florence Nightingale award for her commitment to nursing and her BSN from the University of Colorado where she graduated with honors. She was a compassionate bedside ICU nurse for most of her career. She was also an ER Nurse, House Nursing Supervisor and finished her 35 year career as a Clinical Documentation Integrity Specialist at Prisma Health. Karen was a trusted and respected professional amongst her colleagues.
Ms. Eubanks is especially remembered as a gifted beside nurse who loved caring for people, particularly those in the ICU, and considered it an honor to assist them.
Karen loved to read, watch movies and spend time with her family, but more than anything she enjoyed spending time with her daughter, Mya.
She is is survived by her daughter; Mya Coffey Quinonez (Manuel) of San Diego, California, lifelong friend; Tina Coffey of Edisto, South Carolina, sister; Kendra Poole, granddaughter; Malena Quinonez, aunt; Shirly Doolittle (Farrell), and nieces and nephews; James Duane Black, Emilie Elizabeth Black, Alexander Ethan Poole, Trinity Alana Poole, Ryan Coffey, Mason Brown, Alexis Cheek, Marshal McNure, Mitchell McNure and Phoenix Coffey.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Tri-County Technical College Foundation to establish the Karen Eubanks Memorial Nursing Scholarship. She was loved and will be missed.
