Joseph "J.J." Griffin

Joseph "J.J." Griffin, born on June 4, 1972, in Tryon, North Carolina, passed away on June 22, 2025. J.J. was raised in a loving environment, cherished by his maternal grandparents, Joseph and Viola Griffin. His life was marked by resilience and a deep love for his family, friends, and community.

J.J. was a dedicated member of the Bountyland Church of God, where he found strength and fellowship among those who shared his faith. Known for his vibrant spirit, he actively participated in wheelchair softball with the Mauldin Maulers, as well as wheelchair basketball, showcasing his determination and passion for sports.

He leaves behind a loving family, including his devoted wife, Jennifer Griffin, and his son, Bryce Griffin. J.J. is also survived by his mother, Verena Miller (Tony), and father, Jerry Hines Sr. His legacy continues through his siblings: Tenita Miller, Tori Miller, Brandy Jackson, Keisha Lyons, Kyla Hines, Jerry Hines (Ashley), Vincent Harris, and Curtis Hines (Shondra). Additionally, he will be remembered by his cousin, Jackie Wingo Wood, and many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins who held him dear.

J.J. now joins his beloved deceased family members: his maternal grandparents, Joseph and Viola Griffin; paternal grandparents, Leory and Millie Hines; sister, Ebony Hines, aunt, Teresa Griffin; and uncles, Joseph Griffin Jr. and Franklin Griffin.

Visitation for J.J. will be held on June 28, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, followed by a funeral service beginning at 3:00 PM, both taking place at the Newry Church of God, located at 234 Newry Rd, Seneca, SC 29672.

J.J. Griffin's warmth and spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and his memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of his family and friends.
