Jean M. Doran (Post), originally from Norwood, NY, died in Seneca, SC at the age of 95 from natural causes on July 30, 2022. Jean was the daughter of Charles and Mary Post and is survived by siblings Molly Morgan, Eileen Donovan, and Paul Post. Jean attended SUNY Cortland and Ithaca College. She was a physical education teacher and coach at Altmar Parish Williamstown for most of her teaching career.
Jean lived a very full life and loved family and friends. Jean met her predeceased husband, Jack Doran, in college and they raised their sons with grit and their Catholic faith. She took great pride in her six sons, daughter-in-laws, and their families: Peter (Lorraine), Charles (Alice), James (Mary), Brian (Janice), Timothy (Paola), and Robert (Sharon). She enjoyed her 13 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Jean had an amazing wit and a great sense of humor. She loved sports, cooking, reading, and good conversations. She made great friends wherever she lived. In her afterlife, Jean wishes the best for everyone.
A funeral mass will be said for Jean at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Colton, NY on Friday, August 19, 2022, at 9 a.m. A graveside ceremony will follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Colton. Family and friend gathering after cemetery.
