Jane (Janie) Resler, age 86, passed away peacefully from earthly life at home Thursday, May 18, 2023.
Jane was born April 8, 1937 in Norwalk, CT to Ralph & Ellen Dennis. She graduated with the Stamford High School class of 1954. She met, fell in love with and married her classmate & best friend Charles Resler. They were married for 69 years.
Jane (and Charlie) have 4 children: Sandy, Deb, Dave (Susie), Mike (Erin).
Jane and Charlie have lived in Connecticut, Ohio, Delaware, Kansas, Luxembourg, Florida and retired full-time in the community of Keowee Key, Salem, SC in 2004. A multitude of friendships were made and kept from childhood and in all the places where they put down roots.
Jane loved traveling in Europe especially while they resided there with Paris being a favorite city. Many states were visited, and special family events were never missed.
Jane had affection and appreciation for beauty and history. She collected artwork, jewelry, pottery, and also enjoyed attending live theater and musical events. She delighted in meals of the world and we often teased her of her perfect recall of them.
Oh, how Jane Charlie could “cut a rug”. They were an impeccable couple on the dance floor. Jane was the ultimate hostess and planner, loving dinner parties, special gatherings, even packing a lunch for visitors being picked up at the airport.
Her cookbook collection rivals a library and she was never timid about trying new recipes.
Jane loved reading and her book clubs, bridge, bunco, tennis and the water. Always a member of Newcomers Clubs she was gracious in welcoming new friends to a community.
In addition to her loving husband Charlie, and four children, Jane’s legacy will carry on through 13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
