Harold Francis Jones Jr.

Harold Francis Jones Jr., a dedicated software engineer and co-founder of Silver Heart K9, passed away on June 1, 2025, in Seneca, South Carolina, at the age of 73. Born on July 20, 1951, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Harold's life was marked by his passion for technology and service to his community.

Educated at St. Michael Catholic School, Harold went on to earn a degree in computer science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where he laid the foundation for a remarkable 40-year career in software engineering. His work not only reflected his technical expertise but also his commitment to innovation and quality in the field.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Harold was an active member of his community. He was proud to be an Eagle Scout and cherished the values and experiences that scouting instilled in him throughout his life. Harold was also a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Pittsburgh Penguins, with a particular fondness for sharing these interests with his family.

In addition to his professional and community achievements, Harold was a devoted family man. He is survived by his loving wife, Sharon L. Jones; his children, Harold F. Jones III (Aditya), Jay Jones, Alexandria Denny (Matt), and Cory Jones (Brittany); and his grandchildren, Brendan, Lilly, Holly, and Indira he is also survived by one sister; Sarah Jones Cooper. 

Harold was preceded in death by his father, Harold Francis Jones, and his mother, Sarah Suzanne Jones, who nurtured and shaped him into the man he became, and his siblings, Michael Jones, Thomas Jones, and James Jones. 

His memory will live on through the many lives he touched and the legacy of love and dedication he leaves behind. Harold Francis Jones Jr. will be remembered for his contributions to technology, his passion for sports, and above all, his unwavering devotion to his family.
