Gynell “Lavada” Meyer
Easley, South Carolina
Gynell Meyer Crowe, known to friends and family as Lavada, age 90, passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at her home in Easley, South Carolina. Born on July 14, 1934, she was the loving wife of 44 years to the late John L. Meyer and daughter of the late James Vernon Crowe and Iris Ellenburg Crowe.
Lavada is remembered for her love of the mountains, going to church and volunteering at Goodwill. She worked as a seamstress for many years in North and South Carolina.
Mrs. Meyer is survived by her siblings; Bennie Ruth “Binky” Turner, Bonnie Lou Crowe, and Elvis Daniel Crowe, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Lavada is predeceased by her siblings; Norma Martin, James Crowe, Evelyn Seigle, Betty Jean Taylor, Jay Harold Crowe, Roger Dale Crowe, Barbara Gillespie, Dempsey Crowe, Donnie Franklin Crowe, and Brenice Marie Crowe.
A graveside service will be held Friday, January 31, 2025, at Oconee Memorial Park at 3:00 PM.
