Gary Chronister, age 72, passed away on Thursday, January 11, 2024, at his home in Seneca, South Carolina. Born in Charlotte, North Carolina on August 5, 1951, he was the loving husband of 30 years to the late Jill Chronister and son to the late Leighton William and Margaret Elizabeth Chronister.

Mr. Chronister served our nation as a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps reserve and was a graduate of the Massey Technical Institute. He worked at Duke Energy for 39 years and is remembered for his love of spending time with family and reading at the beach.

Gary is survived by his children; Tina Chronister Dotson (Mike) of Woodstock, Georgia, Angela Chronister of Florida & Vermont, Elizabeth Oglesby (David) of South Carolina, Megan Sellers of North Carolina, grandchildren; Summer Ellison (Matt), Autumn Shelton, Joseph Shelton, Riley D. Riley, River Riley, Kiana Dotson, great-grandchildren; Noah Ellison, Owen Ellison, and brother; Earl Chronister (Michelle)

In addition to his wife and parents Gary is predeceased by his son, Gary Chronister.

In lieu of flowers a charitable donation may be made to local hospice care or Keowee Dialysis Center in Seneca, South Carolina.

A gathering of family & friends will be held at Ramsey Creek Preserve on Sunday, January 14, 2024, at 2:00 PM.
