Gail Morgan Chastain, also known as GG, bid farewell to this wild adventure we call life at the age of 66. She passed away peacefully on Monday, November 6, 2023, surrounded by family and friends. She leaves behind a legacy of laughter, a love for life, the color yellow, and daisies. Born in Greenville, South Carolina, Gail was the daughter of the late John Clifton Morgan and Dora B. Arve Morgan. She had a smile that lit up the room and a laugh that echoed through the hearts of all who knew and adored her.
Gail's love for camping at Low Water was legendary; she could pitch a tent faster than you could say "s'mores." Rafting down the river was her version of a spa day, and she did it with style, leaving a trail of laughter and singing in her wake. Family was Gail's heartbeat, and she spent her time basking in their company. She leaves behind a brother, sister, daughter, stepdaughter, eight grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren who will forever cherish memories of GG. In addition to her biological family, Gail had an extensive chosen family, a giant crew of kindred spirits who shared in her love for life and maybe a bit of partying.
Gail is now reunited with her sister, husband, and beloved daughter Terri, and we can only imagine the joyous reunion happening up there. Knowing Gail, she's probably organizing a camping trip or teaching the angels how to paddle a kayak. Here's to Gail—may her laughter echo through the mountains, and may the afterlife be filled with yellow hues and an abundance of daisies. Cheers to a life well-lived and a legacy that will continue to bring joy to all who remember the remarkable GG.
