David Clayton Fretwell, 71, of Walhalla, SC, passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at Oconee Memorial Hospital, in Seneca, SC.
Born September 4, 1953, in Seneca, SC, he was the son of the late Bry and Edith Rogers Fretwell. He was one of 11 children. He was retired from Dickies House of Flowers with 40 years of service, owner and designer of The Dutch Hutch Floral and Gift Shop, house parent with the DAR school in Tamassee, SC and a former floral designer with BI-LO.
Surviving are his Spouse of thirty years, Trad Gunter of the home, sons; Clayton Fretwell of Charleston, and Brian Fretwell of Anderson, brother, Felton Fretwell of West Union, sisters; Lavada (Steve) Connally of Seneca, and Sharon Alexander of Pickens, other survivors include a nephew, Gage Gunter, of Seneca, nieces, Nicolette Gunter, of Walhalla, and Samantha Wooten (Brandon Gaskill) of Central, great nephew, Waylon Browne, great nieces, Emma Gilliland, Amelia and Emberlyn Rogers all of Walhalla, and a special friend, Sylvia Galloway, of Walhalla.
He was predeceased by his brothers, Vernel, Ervin, Grover, Dallas, Derrell, Raydell Fretwell and his sister, Doris Justice.
He was a follower of Jesus Christ and adored his beloved chihuahua, Sassy.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
