Christopher Dale Barker

Christopher Dale Barker, “Chris”, of Salem, South Carolina, born June 28th, 1983, went home to be with the Lord on October 22nd, 2024, in Greenville, South Carolina. He was the son of the late William Dale Barker and Diann Chapman Smith and was the loving husband of 20 years to Lori Ann Smith Barker.

Chris graduated from Tamasee-Salem High School in 2002. He was a member of Boones Creek Baptist Church and a Mason and was a general foreman at Industry Services of Pickens. Chris leaves behind lots of family, friends, and co-workers that loved him. He had an outgoing personality, and he could talk to anyone. He loved Georgia football and riding horses.

Chris is survived by his wife, Lori Ann Smith Barker, children, Blake Barker (girlfriend Haley Moody) of Salem, Cody Barker, and Ryan Barker of the home, mother, Diann Chapman Smith, and stepfather, Steve Smith.

Chris is predeceased by his father, Dale Barker, grandparents, Homer and Barbara Holden Barker, and Lester and Mildred Talley Chapman.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to: Shriners Children Hospital and to Emerson Rose Heart Foundation.

A visitation will be held by the family at Boones Creek Baptist Church, 264 Boone Creek Rd Salem, SC 29676, on Sunday October 27, 2024, beginning at 2:00pm. A memorial service is to follow at 3:30pm at the same location.
