Mr. Billy E. “Bill” Nichols, the husband of Vergie Nell Hammond Nichols, met his Lord and Savior face to face early on Tuesday, October 17, 2023.

Bill was retired from the United States Postal Service. He was a veteran of the US Army, and he attended Mt. Vernon Holiness Church. Born in Oconee County, Bill was the son of the late William Grover and Jessie Bell Barrett Nichols.

In addition to his wife, Bill is survived by a brother; Tommie Nichols of Central, two granddaughters; Trina Elliott (Randy), and Amanda Peacemaker; four great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Bill is preceded in death by his son; Richard E. “Rick” Nichols, sister; Lois Lee, brothers; Ralph Nichols, Harold Nichols, and Charlie Nichols.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 22, 2023, at 3:00 PM at the Mt. Vernon Holiness Church at 235 Rockwood Dr. in Seneca, South Carolina. The family will greet friends from 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to Mount Vernon Holiness Church in Seneca, South Carolina.
