Annie Ruth Phillips Ragan
Annie Ruth Phillips Ragan,85, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Wednesday, June 28, 2023, in Woodruff South Carolina. Born in Franklin/Carnsville, GA, she is the daughter of the late Willie Clyde Phillips and Enoree Ellen Ussery and the previous wife of D.W. Ragan.
Annie or “Sister” as her family affectionally left high school to help the family. She later returned to acquire her GED and continued to complete a certificate program to be a certified nursing assistant which she used to love and care for numerous families in assisted living facilities in Florida. She loved sewing and ceramics as well as numerous other crafts. Before her decline in health, she was a member of Bountyland Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and served as the custodian for many years.
Annie is survived by a daughter; Donna, and her husband Alan of Woodruff, South Carolina one son; Robb Ragan his wife Callie of Townville, South Carolina. Annie also leaves five grandchildren; Rachel Childress (Ricky), Joshua McDaniel (Kim), Rebecca Cox (Russ), Jennifer Lowie, and Sarah “Sunny” Lowie, six great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild, and many nieces and nephews to share in her memory. In addition to her parents and previous husband, Annie is predeceased by two brothers: John Phillips and Clyde Phillips, and a sister Linda Wilkerson.
A visitation will be held Thursday, July 6, 2023, from 1 pm until 2 pm at Mountain View Funeral Home in Seneca 101 East North 2nd Street Seneca, South Carolina. Service will follow at 2 pm. Entombment will follow at Oconee Memorial Park Seneca, South Carolina.
