Seneca, SC – Alice Geer Flythe, 81, passed away peacefully at home on April 14, 2022. She was born in Spartanburg, SC and grew up in Eden, NC where she graduated from Morehead High School. Alice attended St. Mary’s College in Raleigh and Averett College in Danville, Va. She was a North Carolina debutante through the Terpsichorean Club.
She was a loving wife and mother who thoroughly enjoyed hosting and entertaining family and friends. Alice was the epitome of a southern lady and a great cook as well. She loved dogs and was often referred to as a dog whisperer.
Alice is survived by her loving husband Tom of 60 years; sons Jimmy (Bonnie) of Winston-Salem, NC and John (Marianne) of Greenville, SC; grandchildren T, Walker, Woody and Katie; brother, John M. Geer, Jr. (Joyce) of Lake Norman, NC; and host of nieces and nephews.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents John M. Geer and Alice Ellerbe Geer, and sister Patsy Connolly.
A private service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Rd, Anderson, SC 29621 or the charity of one’s choice.
