Alfred Dennis Goguen (Freddy), 84, of West Union, SC, peacefully passed away on August 27th, 2023 surrounded by loved ones.
A veteran, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Alfred was born on September 5th, 1938 to the late Alfonse and Rose Alma Goguen in the city of Fairhaven, Mass. Alfred lived most of his life in the city of New Bedford, Massachusetts where he formed many relationships and was loved by all those that he came across. Alfred enjoyed learning new trades that lead to him taking on many odd jobs working as a police officer, fisherman, carpenter, and painter. He had many passions and enjoyed fishing, bowling, sports, and above all, spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Alfred and his wife Ellen were soulmates, enjoying over 65 years together.
Alfred was predeceased by his parents Rose and Alfonse Goguen, brother Albert Goguen, beloved grandchildren Jeffrey and Joshua Turk, Son-in-law David Guilbeault, and lifelong friend Steven Botelho. Alfred is survived by his wife Ellen Goguen; His daughters Christine Goguen, Deborah Rose, Sharon Goguen and Michelle Marie; His brother Robert Goguen, and sisters Evonne Gauley, and Theresa Counyer; His grandchildren Dennis Turk, Alicia Branam, Andrew Lemos, Anthony Lemos, Melissa Taylor, William Pittsley, and Shelby Pittsley; as well as thirteen great-grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
Alfred will forever be loved and remembered as a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was an amazing man until the end and will always be in our hearts.
